Rokytnice nad Jizerou - Krkonoše
Let us introduce you a favourite holiday resort in the very heart of the West Giant Mountains. Rokytnice nad Jizerou is a well visited touristic and sports centre, the history of which dates back to the middle of 16th century. The mountain ridges of Lysé Hory and Kotle that reach up to the height of 1434 metres above sea level make a prominent landmark. Picturesque valley is accompanied by Studenov peak that is very close to Harrachov.
The terrains of Rokytnice offer both ski and touristic activities. There are 24 ski tows or chairlifts that will take you up to the ridges. There are well-prepared slopes for skiers – in case of the lack of snow the machinery for artificial snow production are used. Passionate skiers may try night skiing. Total capacity of ski lifts is 13,900 skiers per hour on 18.6 km of slopes.
For those who like cross-country skiing, there are both short and long circuits. All skiers, less proficient or keen, find their ideal track. We recommend you to try areal U Kapličky and Pod Dvoračkami, which can be a good start for longer trips along the ridges of our highest mountains.
You can borrow all equipment for winter sports in sports rentals or ski-services. You can choose from a great number of ski schools, where you can be taught by specialized professionals.
In summer season there are also many possible activities. There are plenty of marked hiking trails and cycle paths. You can borrow bikes in several rentals, so as you don´t have to bring them from your home. For lovers of “white sport” there are tennis courts.
During the whole year, there is a possibility of using skittle-alley, bowling centre, sports centre, sauna and fitness centre. Anytime, you can sweeten your stay in local wine bars, bars, cafés and pubs. You can spend the evenings pleasantly in several music bars. All those places are ready to provide their best services and sweeten your stay in the Giant Mountains.
Our resort is really close to the ridges. The shortest way to Labe spring is from here. On the way there you can stop by at Huťský waterfall. Literally over the hill you can find another well-known holiday resort Harrachov, from where it is possible to get to Poland. There is an amazing whole-day trip along the ridges to Mísečky, to Špindlerův Mlýn or even to the peak of the highest Czech mountain, Sněžka (1,602 metres above the sea level).
No matter if you visit us in winter or in summer, there is always beautiful nature, interesting hiking trails and hospitable citizens. Come visit us! We are looking forward to you.
